Bespoke personal training for the specific needs of the busy 40+ woman
❝ Working with Irina was always the perfect mix of fun and challenging. I always felt amazing after our sessions - feeling strong, mentally alert and even though I was always physically pushed, I felt energised and buzzing afterwards. She also considered by chronic shoulder issue, always managing to make it feel worked but not aggravated! And what made the sessions extra special is that she is a beautiful soul and a joy to talk to. ❞

❝ I’ve been attending Irina’s classes for over 2 years now and I must say really enjoy them. She keeps the classes varied, is very patient, and is full of encouragement & positivity. It feels like she’s on our level, not those ‘us and them’ feelings you sometimes get with trainers. I feel stronger and more challenged than I have for years. Irina’s classes have become a large part of my endeavor to keep fit and they make me feel I can still be fit at any age! Thanks, Irina X ❞

There isn’t much in the modern fitness industry for the busy 40+ women. You’re a Google search away from a thousand women’s workout programs and diets, but the unfortunate truth is these are written for women in their 20s and 30s.Restrictive dieting and endurance cardio sessions aren’t just unsustainable for the 40+ woman…These 'solutions' are actually HURTING your attempts to lose weight!
WHY?
It all comes down to the hormone cortisol. In short, it’s the body’s first defense against what it sees as stressful situations. It readies you for action by releasing glucose for a quick burst of energy while slowing down your metabolism and increasing your blood pressure. The more stress in your life, the higher your cortisol levels.Long cardio sessions and crash diets are very stressful on the body, leading to spikes in cortisol production. This is a significant issue for 40+ women for two reasons.
1. Cortisol is tied to insulin.
Cortisol releases glucose, and insulin ferries this to your red blood cells for an energy boost.High cortisol = High insulin levels, and chronically high insulin levels mean your red blood cells start rejecting glucose. And when the extra glucose in your bloodstream has nowhere else to go…It winds up as fat.
2. Cortisol takes priority over other hormones.
Estrogen production (Which is already at an all-time low during menopause) winds down if the body thinks it needs more cortisol. This hormone has many uses, but one of them is controlling where and how fat is deposited. Women with lower estrogen levels tend to accumulate and keep fat in the abdominal region. This is why so many women seem to put on fat automatically when they reach menopause.
Put these two together, and you risk being caught in a vicious cycle.
Burning a whole load of calories during a day’s exercise or dieting, only for the spike in cortisol to undo all your hard work and leave you in a worse position than when you started.I’ve seen it before. It’s stressful, exhausting, and disheartening.
This is where I come in.

About the Coach
Why should you trust some random woman?

Hi, I’m Irina.
Since 2015 I’ve helped over 200 busy 40+ women look and feel amazing, all without a single crash diet or forcing my clients to change their schedule.
I too struggled with losing fat using the traditional advice of restrictive dieting and cardio. All it did was leave me hungry, irritable and tired. When I realised I had nothing to show for my efforts, I started experimenting. My method, the 40+ Fitness System, is the end result of that experimentation and my 7 years as a personal trainer. Not only does it produce sustainable results, it is completely flexible and is tailored for the particular needs of the 40+ woman. The secret?Strength training. You might read those two words and be put off, but keep reading.Strength training (The simple act of exercising with the intent of getting stronger over time) isn't just beneficial for the busy 40+ woman, it’s perfect.
❝ I'm a 59 years old woman and I have been working with Irina for a year now. I have a definite yardstick on my progress, as last year I went away on holiday to St.Lucia, and I felt so weak and miserable in my body. My partner recommended I start strength training with Irina, which I did do when I came back after the holiday. This summer, almost exactly a year later, I went on holiday to Stockholm and kayaked and hiked in the Stockholm archipelago. I felt so much stronger and fit, and although I got tired keeping up with the twenty-year-olds on the trip, I didn't feel weak as I had in St.Lucia! So much progress, and I am so grateful to Irina!!! ❞

❝ I found myself aged 55, having never done any form of exercise in my entire life before, suddenly feeling old, stiff and achey. On the advise of my doctor, I began looking for approaches to a healthier, fitter me. I joined Irina's weekly bootcamp and after a couple of weeks , I began to feel gradually better . Fast forward 6 weeks, and I had joined the local leisure centre and was exercising regularly 3 x a week. I would not have found this at all possible if I had not started Irina's programme. Irina gave me the confidence to try and the courage to keep going , simply because she let me ease in at my own pace. No pressure; no nagging, just kind encouragement with a load of belly laughs for good measure. I have made new friends and can recommend highly. ❞

Just a few quick workouts a week can:
Regulate estrogen and testosterone levels (And reduce the dreaded belly bulge!)
Rev up your metabolism (So you burn more calories just from sitting around)
Tighten up your posture (Offsetting long days of sitting at a desk)
Smooth out cellulite and stretch marks (Without expensive creams)
Create curves (When women put on muscle they get curvy, not bulky)
Release dopamine (Who doesn’t want more of the happy hormone?)
All in exchange for a few hours of exercise a week (At most). You’re not going to get the same benefits if you spend the same number of hours jogging. If the 40+ woman combines strength-focused workouts with a change in mindset, healthier eating habits and accountability, there’s no reason she shouldn't look and feel like a goddess. For this reason, the 40+ Fitness System is broken into three sections.
